Obituary courtesy of Zechar Bailey Funeral Homes: Shane Arden Unger, age 35, of Rossburg, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 8:10 PM at Mercer Health in Coldwater, Ohio. He was born on October 10, 1980 in Greenville, Ohio, to Mike & Jann (Mikesell) Unger of Versailles, Ohio. He is survived by the love of his life, Michelle Heindl of Rossburg, Ohio; daughter, Lexi Unger and son, Owen Unger both living at home; maternal grandmother, Doris Mikesell of Greenville; paternal grandparents, Mary Lou & Chalmer Unger of Versailles; mother in law and father in law, Steve & Kim Heindl of Lewisburg, Ohio; brothers and sisters in law, Shawn & Marianne Unger of Sidney, Ohio, and Shad & Amanda Unger of Greenville; nieces and nephews, Chamberlain, Lauren, Boden and Parker; sister in law, Melissa (Oscar) Castillo of Georgia; brothers in law, Levi Heindl and Logan Heindl both of Lewisburg; aunts, Connie, Pam, Jean, Jane and Joanne and their spouses; as well as numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Russell Mikesell. Shane worked at Voisard Tool in Russia, Ohio as a machinist. He loved dirt track racing where he traveled all through the Tri-State area. He enjoyed fishing but most of all spending time with his kids working on his racecar. There will be a service held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Jeff Harper officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery, Webster, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Shane had so many race fans the family asks that visitors dress casual with their favorite race shirt on. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to a fund for Lexi and Owen.
