World of Outlaws drivers turned a 12 point deficit going into Saturday night into a one point victory over the High Limit Racing driver group. The top five highest point earning drivers on the week as a whole will each see $1,000 donated to the charity of their choice, courtesy of Andrew Riffle and The Whistle Stop. Those drivers and their chosen charities are as follows: 1) David Gravel: 94 total points David has selected the Cancer Can(‘t) Company of Middlebury, CT. This organization helps provide support to cancer patients to inspire them to believe, fight, heal and help other cancer patients to do the same. Interested in supporting this organization as well? Visit their website HERE. 2) Donny Schatz: 90 total points Donny has selected the World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund. This fund exists to help assist World of Outlaws members injured at their events. This group teaches young visitors about the dangers of fire, how to Stop Drop and Roll and how to react if they should have a fire in their home. THE COMPETITION: Sprint Car Racing’s very best will converge on Eldora Speedway this week. High Limit stars. World of Outlaws stars. Invaders from California, Iowa, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and all parts between. Which group will reign supreme and come out on top? That question will be answered in the form a friendly competition that will track finishes each night this week at Eldora. The Whistle Stop presents The Battle For Bragging Rights Drivers will be divided into one of three groups: Team High Roller: full-time High Limit Racing drivers Team Outlaw: full-time World of Outlaws drivers Team Invader: drivers not carrying full-time status in the two series above Points will be awarded each night to the top five finishing drivers in each group. 25 points will be awarded to the Feature winner, 23 for second, 22 for third, 21 for forth, 20 for 5th and so on. Each group’s nightly points total will be comprised of their five highest finishing drivers. At the conclusion of the four days of racing, one group will walk away with bragging rights over the rest. Here’s where it gets fun…. The top five highest point earners at the conclusion of the weekend – regardless of group – will have the opportunity to support their favorite organization or cause. Each driver will have a $1,000 donation made in their name to the charity of their choice, courtesy of the Whistle Stop.
