Qualifying and B-Feature Scrambles Offer $1,000 to Win Leading Up To $45,000 World 100 Payday

ROSSBURG, OH (August 30) — While $45,000 is the coveted prize at the end of the World 100 rainbow, the unrivaled event for dirt Late Models offers five additional races over the course of the weekend (Sept. 7 & 8) that pay $1,000 to win and reward valuable points towards the UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) DIRTcar Late Model National Championship. And, with each of those wins comes a trip to the famed Eldora stage and victory lane ceremonies.

No other event throughout the season garners as much media focus and draws more attention to dirt Late Models than the show that actually began major “Crown Jewels” for the division, the World 100. Appropriately the festival-sized happening, which dates back to 1971, is touted as “the granddaddy of them all”, and a victory during the World 100 weekend produces recognition nationwide.

The $1,000 chases begin immediately following Friday night’s double round of single-lap time trial runs, where the fastest 84 cars will be locked into Saturday’s heat races. The balance of the timed cars will be split into three qualifying features of 20-laps in distance; each paying $1,000 to the victor.

Six heat races and two B-features will determine the 30-car starting field for the 100-lap chase around the legendary .500-mile clay oval; but before the classic pursuit takes the green flag, two other drivers will have captured $1,000 pay checks through the newly introduced B-Feature Scrambles.

The five-lap scrambles take place immediately after each of the 20-lap B-Features has advanced five cars into the World 100 starting grid. As those five cars retire to the pit area to prep for the century grind, the remaining cars on the track will be lined up in a five-lap race paying $1,000 to win.

A total of $180,900 in prize money and awards has been posted for the 42^nd annual running of the chase for the fabled globed trophy.

In addition to sponsored lap money in the World 100, multiple companies have stepped to the plate with awards; the first of which will be decided Friday night. CM Graphics will present $1,000 to the fastest qualifier. In a unique twist, Integra Shocks will present four shocks, valued at $3,000, via random draw of all entrants coming to the World 100 using an open trailer.

In what has become an intense battle, DirtonDirt.com will reward $1,000 to the best appearing car at the World 100. B-Feature action will find Bert Transmission and Mason Racin’ presenting a transmission to the first driver not advancing from B-Feature #1, while ButlerBuilt has offered one professional seat system to the first driver not advancing from B-Feature #2. Additionally, Eibach Springs will present four springs to each of the winners of the B-Features, as well as the World 100 victor.
