(December 21, 2022): The Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) will return to Eldora Speedway on Thursday night, August 10, 2023, as part of its six-race, ESPN “Thursday Night Thunder” series. The series features superstar drivers from a variety of racing genres with an emphasis on champion-level drivers. Over its first two seasons, SRX has seen some of the sport’s biggest names including Eldora owner and NASCAR, Indy Car and USAC Champion Tony Stewart, plus Bill Elliott, Chase Elliott, Bobby Labonte, Matt Kenseth, Helio Castroneves, Tony Kanaan Ryan Hunter-Reay, and a host of other champion drivers. In 2022, the series field featured a total of five NASCAR Cup Series Championships, three IndyCar Series Championships, four Daytona 500 Winners, five Indianapolis 500 Winners and four NASCAR Hall of Fame Drivers. Tony Stewart claimed the inaugural SRX Championship in 2021, and Marco Andretti claimed the 2022 Championship. This will be the second SRX race for Eldora. Stewart won the 2021 race. The race, one of only two on dirt, will be Round 5 of the six-race series, conducted at six different tracks.
