Press Release DIRT LATE MODEL DREAM EXCITEMENT SWELLS ROSSBURG, OHIO June 4, 2014February 25, 2016 EldoraPR Dirt Late Model Dream, Late Models, Press Releases Popularity of $306,625 Event Escalates Tiny Village to Largest City in Darke County ROSSBURG, OH (June 4) – While the base population of tiny Rossburg, OH is 251, over the next three days and nights that number will increase nearly 100 times over to transform the tiny hamlet into the largest city in Darke County. Race fans and race teams from every corner of the nation will converge upon Rossburg’s Eldora Speedway for the 20th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream presented by Ferris Mowers for three nights of racing, Thursday-Friday-Saturday, June 5-6-7. The richest event in dirt late model racing, the Dirt Late Model Dream boasts a posted purse of $306,625, which includes the season’s largest payoff for an event winner – $100,000 for Saturday’s 100-lap finale. Race action and strategy will be busy over all three nights leading up to the huge payday as each night of the Dream is a full racing program with direct bearing on the opportunity to be among the 28 starters in the century grind about Eldora. While Saturday’s time-honored format of six qualifying heats remains untouched, what has changed is the determination of those line-ups. As introduced last year and widely accepted, two rounds of single-lap time trial runs have been replaced by two full nights (Thursday and Friday) of racing. A driver’s fastest time trial run over those preliminary nights will be considered their official time which will be used in Saturday’s heat race determination. Twin 25-lap A-Features Thursday ($2,500 to win each) and Friday ($5,000 to win each) wrap up those nights of action. Adding additional importance to those nights is that the average finish earned by a driver will serve as the tie-breaker in the event of duplicate official times. The busy, but unique format, offers multiple opportunities for drivers to compete in A-Feature competition and possibly a trip to the legendary Eldora victory lane. Thursday and Friday have 48 spots available, with Saturday’s chase offering 28 positions. The combination of huge payoffs, prestige and the famed ‘Eldora Experience’ contribute to the population influx that moves Rossburg, OH from village status to that of major city, if only for three days and nights. Fans can purchase race tickets and campsites for the Dirt Late Model Dream presented by Ferris Mowers, or any other exciting Eldora event, by going online to www.EldoraSpeedway.com.
