WORLD 100 F.A.Q. Regarding the October 12-14 weekend *** THE WORLD 100 HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED *** NEW DATES: 48th World 100 – Friday & Saturday, October 12th & 13th #LastCallForThemAll – World of Outlaws Sprint Cars – Sun, Oct 14th Great Seats Still Available! www.eldoraspeedway.com or (937) 338-3815 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS We appreciate your patience as our team has been working to nail down answers and solidify details for everyone involved: our great fans, campers, competitors, our own officials and workers, volunteer and service groups, the local community, the Darke County Sheriff Office and Volunteer Fire Departments, the Ohio DOT, vendors and so many more. The great promoter Sherri Heckenast – who is doing fantastic work at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois – graciously offered to work with us on a weekend rain date by moving her two-day $25,000-to-win for the World of Outlaws CRAFTSMAN Late Models weekend to 2019. When we first sensed the potential turn in the weather and the possibility the weekend could be a washout, Sherri stepped up, as she always has, and volunteered to help. Her continued leadership and commitment to cooperation amongst promoters only promises good things ahead at Joliet and for our sport. There are a lot of moving parts to this – the World 100 is Eldora’s biggest event – in fact, it legitimately is The Biggest Dirt Race In The World™. For everyone on our team, it is like July 4th, the Thanksgiving Day Parade and Christmas morning all balled into one. We look forward to it as much as all of you and are working as hard as possible to make the re-scheduled World 100 just as special as any other. Some history regarding weather and the World 100 from the Eldora archives, historian Bob Markos and Todd Turner of www.DirtOnDirt.com: The re-scheduling of the 48th World 100 to Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th will mark the seventh time the race has been held in October. The first two World 100s were scheduled for October: 1971 – Bruce Gould; and 1972 – Verlin Eaker. It has been pushed to October by rain on four occasions: 1974 (September 29th to October 13th) – Ed Sanger; 1976 (September 26th to October 17th) – Charlie Hughes; 1989 (September 10th to October 7th) – Donnie Moran; and 1990 (September 9th to October 14th) – Scott Bloomquist. It has been 11 years since weather last prevented the World 100 from being held on Saturday night requiring the Sunday rain date: 2007 – Jimmy Owens. F.A.Q. All grandstand tickets, suite tickets and camping permits are your raincheck for the re-scheduled weekend and they do not need to be exchanged. However, your pit pass wristbands may be removed and brought to any Eldora ticket gate on Friday, October 12th or Saturday, October 13th to be exchanged for a new one. Q: What if I can’t make it back to Eldora for the re-scheduled World 100 Weekend? A: There is always the option of selling your tickets and/or wristbands to others looking to purchase them – via social media (comments on Eldora’s Facebook, Facebook marketplace, racingjunk.com) and online forums. ***DEADLINE HAS PASSED FOR LIVE STREAM OPTION*** We have been working on something especially for the passionate race fan who does not want to miss the World 100. A: Yes! Your ticket for Friday, September 7th is now your ticket for Friday, October 12th and your ticket for Saturday, September 8th is now your ticket for Saturday, October 13th. Reserved seat tickets will remain the same. Q: Are tickets still available for the World 100? A: Yes! You can get great seats for both the Friday and Saturday night 24/7 at www.eldoraspeedway.com or during business hours by calling the box office at (937) 338-3815. Q: Do I have to keep wearing this wristband? A: No. You can take your wristband off – but do not forget to bring it with you when you come back on Friday, October 12th or Saturday, October 13th. You will need to exchange it for a new one at the Pit Gate (Gate 4), the Turn 4 Ticket Booth (Gate 3) or the Main Ticket Booth (Gate 2). Q: Is my camping pass from the World 100 good for the re-scheduled weekend? A: Yes – if your permit is for an Eldora Speedway campground, it is your raincheck and good for the weekend. You will not have to pay again to camp for the re-scheduled World 100. Eldora-owned and operated campgrounds are: Lots 1-2-3-4, Eldora Village, Little E Pits, Main Lot, Northside Camp & Park, Northside Extension, Silo and South Lot. NOTE: Speedy Campground is not operated by Eldora Speedway. We do not know their raincheck policy at this time. Q: Will there be free camping in Lot 5? A: Great question and this is something that will be changing for the event. With all of Eldora’s camping sold out for the World 100, we need campsites for the additional fans coming in for the re-scheduled event and the World of Outlaws fans. We are building a new reserved campground that includes Lot 5 and a portion of the Little E spectator area. These sites will be available online beginning Friday, September 14 at 10:00 AM EDT (PURCHASE HERE) Q: When will the campgrounds open? A: Campgrounds will be open on Wednesday. Q: When will the South Lot open for campers? A: The South Lot will first be open to campers from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday. South Lot campers who plan to stay for the Sunday event must have tickets to Sunday’s World of Outlaws race. Q: Do I have to move my camper after Saturday night’s event so the World of Outlaws fans can move in to camp? A: No. Your World 100 camping permit is good for the entire weekend. Q: If I see an open campsite, can I park in it or move my RV there? A: No. All campsites for the World 100 were sold. Some people come for Saturday only. Please only camp in your designated campsite and park in designated parking lots. Q: I purchased a campsite from my buddy who is getting married and his fiancé’s Mom refused to move the wedding to Eldora. The permit is stuck to his RV windshield and we’re bringing our hunting trailer. What should I do? A: Get a picture of the permit, make it as large as possible with a note from the original account holder who purchased the campsite acknowledging he sold it to you, and put it in the window facing the speedway. Q: Will Portakleen still offer private rentals, RV pump-outs and fresh water fills? A: Yes! Q: Will there be showers? A: Hopefully just at the shower trailer! Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Q: Do the remaining races left to run in the World 100 still count for DIRTcar UMP National Points? A: Yes. DIRTcar points will be awarded. Special circumstances have been recognized. Q: Can drivers who pre-entered but did not race Thursday come for the re-scheduled weekend? Can Ricky Weiss come back? A: Yes. And, yes he can with a different car. Q: Can new cars enter and race Friday and Saturday? A: Yes. Registration is still open for the World 100. It does not close until Registration and Inspection closes on the second day of the event. The World 100 entry form has been re-opened at: https://www.eldoraspeedway.com/world-100-entry/ Q: When will the haulers enter on Friday, October 12th? A: Pit Pass sales begin at 10 a.m. The Pit Gate opens at 11 a.m. Q: Will the purse checks for Thursday night’s race be held until October? A: All monies won to this point, including rookie, top point awards and tow money, have been mailed. USPS promises first-class postage should arrive anywhere in the continental United States within three-days so purse checks will arrive this week. Q: When do the World 100 merchandise and t-shirt vendors load-in? A: All vendors load-in and park at 12 noon (Eastern) on Thursday. Q: When can we place our chairs, mark our areas and stake our claim to the grass hillsides? A: Great question and this is something that will be changing for the event. The grass hillsides will open at 12 noon (Eastern) on Friday, October 12th – at the same time as the spectator gates. Chairs may not be placed on the concrete or stashed within the gates ahead of time. The use of stakes to mark locations and digging into the hillsides is prohibited. Q: What if weather affects the weekend again? What if the World 100 has to run Sunday? A: We will do everything we can to get the shows in just as we always do. The World 100 is the priority event for Eldora for the weekend. It takes precedent over all others and it would run before the sprint cars on Sunday if a doubleheader is required. Q: What is running with the World of Outlaws CRAFTSMAN Sprint Cars on Sunday? A: The top-24 in the Eldora DIRTcar UMP Modified points are invited to participate in the event. This event decides the top-15 in the 2018 standings and the $5,000 champion’s award. In the event of weather, the Modified division will run a feature-only program. Q: Are my World 100 tickets and pit passes good for the World of Outlaws race on Sunday? A: No, but tickets to the #LastCallForThemAll featuring the World of Outlaws CRAFTSMAN Sprint Cars are still just $25 ($29 reserved/$30 for pit passes) and available now at www.eldoraspeedway.com Q: Where will the World of Outlaws and sprint car vendors go? A: They will be in the north end Fan Zone located by the Suite Tower outside of Turns 3 & 4. Q: Where can I find the schedule for the new schedule for the weekend? A: https://www.eldoraspeedway.com/event/48th-world-oct/ Q: What about the race that was scheduled for Saturday, October 13th featuring the Sunoco ALMS, NRA 360 Sprint Invaders and traditional non-wing sprint cars? A: Unfortunately, it has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. All of those with tickets, camping and suites have been contacted. The traditional non-wing sprint cars can be seen when the USAC National Sprint Cars contest their portion of the 4-Crown Nationals on Saturday, September 22nd. The NRA 360 Sprint Invaders are working on scheduling their season finale at another track in the region. Q: Will there be a “World Famous Eldora Thursday Night Party?” A: It wouldn’t be the World 100 without one! Q: I have extra tickets and pit passes I would like to sell. Can you sell them for me? Can I stand at the gate and sell them to people? A: Great question. We still have plenty of great seats yet to sell ourselves, so we need to concentrate on our own inventory. The resale of event tickets is prohibited on Eldora property and is regulated by Ohio Revised Code 715.48. Eldora officials and the Darke County deputies have no way of telling who a race fan is and who is a scalper dressed as a race fan. So far, fans who have advertised tickets for sale online, via social media (comments on Eldora’s Facebook, Facebook marketplace, racingjunk.com) and online forums have been selling them pretty quickly. ELDORA SPEEDWAY, INC., IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TICKET, CAMPING PERMIT, RAINCHECK, PIT PASS OR WRISTBAND PURCHASED FROM/SOLD BY A RESELLER OR THE SECONDARY MARKET. VIEW WORLD 100 EVENT SECTION
